Job summary

MHA is seeking a reliable Domestic Assistant to join Rushden Park care home in Rushden. You will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents, respecting privacy and dignity.

Responsibilities include cleaning residents’ rooms and communal areas, following schedules and COSHH rules, and reporting hazards. The role requires a flexible, team-focused approach and may involve a 7-day rota. Training is provided to support ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic/cleaning work is desirable.
• Ability to work well in a team and use your initiative.
• Flexible 7-day rota with variable shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of residents' rooms, bathrooms, offices and communal areas.
• Carry out cleaning tasks as scheduled, including carpet cleaning where required.
• Respect residents' privacy, dignity and personal space at all times.
• Use and store cleaning equipment safely and per COSHH requirements.
• Report faulty equipment, hazards or damage to a senior colleague.
• Attend training, staff meetings and appraisals as required.
• Follow MHA policies including health & safety and infection prevention.
