Job summary

MHA is recruiting a Domestic Assistant based at The Fairways care home in Chippenham. The role offers both full-time and part-time hours with a competitive hourly rate of £13.46. You will contribute to a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents while respecting dignity and privacy.

You will maintain high cleanliness standards, follow COSHH, and work as part of a supportive team. DBS checks are provided and training is offered to help you develop in a caring, wellbeing‑focused

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic or cleaning work is desirable.
• Ability to work well in a team and use your own initiative.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and prioritise tasks.
• Sensitivity to the needs of older people.
• Flexibility to work a 7-day rota.
• QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness across residents' rooms, bathrooms, offices and communal areas.
• Carry out cleaning tasks according to schedules, including carpet care.
• Respect residents' privacy, dignity and personal space.
• Use and store cleaning equipment safely per COSHH.
• Report faults or hazards to a senior colleague.
• Attend training, meetings, supervisions and appraisals as required.
• Follow MHA policies on safety, infection prevention and safeguarding.
