Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking a compassionate Day Care Worker to deliver high-quality, outcome-focused care at Harry Heaney Day Centre in Rutherglen. You will work as part of a social care team to support individuals with personal care, mobility, and activity engagement in a safe, person-centred environment.

The role is 37 hours per week, permanent, with a salary of £29,612 to £29,979 per year. Applicants should communicate effectively in English, undertake mandatory training, PVG checks,

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Social Care, or an HNC in Social Care.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assess, review, and support plan the needs of individuals to ensure high standards of care and positive outcomes
• Deliver direct care, including support with mobility and personal care where required
• Facilitate group activities, individualised support, and passenger assistance duties
• Maintain accurate, timely records of care and support provided
• Work in partnership with families, social workers, and external organisations
• Ensure adherence to health and safety policies, including risk assessments
• Contribute to a safe, secure, and inclusive environment for all service users
