Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking a compassionate Day Care Worker to provide high-quality, person-centred care at the Harry Heaney Day Centre, Rutherglen. You will support individuals to achieve personal outcomes while safeguarding health, safety and wellbeing in line with council frameworks.

You will work with service users, families and professionals to maintain a safe, inclusive environment, undertaking training and development to ensure best practice.

Qualifications

• Experience working as part of a social care or healthcare team.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Competent IT and record-keeping skills.
• Willingness to undertake mandatory training and develop professionally.

Responsibilities

• Assess and support plans to deliver high standards of care and positive outcomes.
• Deliver direct care including mobility and personal care when required.
• Facilitate group activities, individualised support and passenger assistance duties.
• Maintain accurate records of care and support provided.
• Work in partnership with families, social workers and external organisations.
• Adhere to health and safety policies including risk assessments.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive environment for all service users.
