Job summary

Turning Point is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist a person living in Castleford and the local community. You will promote independence, support daily activities, and help manage anxiety with patience and reliability.

The role involves practical tasks, personal care, some medication support, and recording daily progress. A full driving licence is desirable; shifts include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Essential: caring, flexible, patient, non-judgemental; great team player with energy; good communication skills; able to assist with physical aspects and manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Promote the independence of people we support.
• Support a full range of daily activities including cleaning and cooking, days out, or holidays.
• Arrange activities in the home and local community.
• Develop individuals' life skills and personal interests.
• Help individuals stay safe and healthy; assist with personal care needs.
• Manual handling if required; support with medication; maintain records and support monitoring.
