Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for the Wansbeck Supported Living Service in Bedlington. The role is full-time and permanent, with a strong focus on person-centred care for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.

The successful candidate will work across a 14-week rolling rota, including nights, and play a vital part in helping individuals lead meaningful lives.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care setting required, ideally with learning disabilities or behaviours of concern.
• Flexibility to work a 14 week rolling rota including early, late and night shifts.
• Full UK driving licence required or desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support with personal care and daily living tasks.
• Assist with meal planning and dietary needs.
• Encourage participation in activities and promote community access.
• Support service users to stay connected with family and friends.
• Promote independence, confidence and safety in daily routines.
