Job summary

Southern Housing is hiring a Care & Support Worker for Furze Brake on the Isle of Wight. The role is 35 hours per week under a fixed-term contract, requiring flexibility to work evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and on‑call duties.

You will support residents with diverse needs, following individual care plans to promote independence, dignity and inclusion, and you may be asked to move between schemes and the community across the Island.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
• Willingness to work towards an NVQ Level 2 in Care (or equivalent).
• No previous experience is required - full training and support will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care and support across housing schemes, extra care services and in the community.
• Provide care in line with individual care plans to promote independence, dignity and inclusion.
• Respond to emergencies, moving and handling tasks, and participate in on‑call duties as required.
