Job summary

Sense is seeking a Registered Care Manager to lead the supported living service in Tonypandy, supporting adults with sensory loss and learning disabilities to live life on their own terms. You will supervise a Deputy Manager and Support Workers, ensuring daily operations meet high standards and are person-centred.

This permanent role is 37.5 hours per week with a salary of £34,671. A full UK manual driving licence is essential as company vehicles are used for appointments and activities.

Qualifications

• Has previous management experience in a care setting such as supported living, residential care or community services.
• Leads with compassion and confidence, building a culture where colleagues feel supported and empowered.
• Puts people at the heart of every decision, ensuring choice, control and dignity in communication.
• Takes ownership of quality and compliance, turning CIW requirements and audits into lasting improvements.
• Communicates effectively with stakeholders, commissioners and regulators.
• Is adaptable, solution-focused and resilient, seeing potential, not limitations.
• Holds a Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards it (Sense can fund).

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring safety, responsiveness and high quality, person-led support.
• Leading, supervising and mentoring the team to fulfil shared responsibilities.
• Managing rotas, records and systems to keep the service compliant.
• Overseeing CIW compliance, audits and improvement plans.
• Promoting person-centred approaches that recognise communication differences and sensory needs.
• Working with families and other professionals to deliver consistent, meaningful support.
