Kings Bromley Care Home in Burton-on-Trent is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare nutritious, home-cooked meals for residents. You will plan and cook hot and cold dishes, tailor menus to dietary needs, and help maintain high standards of nutrition and quality.

We value an hands-on cook with experience in care settings, familiar with texture-modified meals, allergens, and ageing nutrition. The role requires weekend and bank holiday shifts and includes DBS checks and references.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Cook in a care home, nursing home or similar setting
• A hands-on approach, with the ability to prepare, cook, serve meals, and assist with clearing and cleaning as required
• Good knowledge of nutrition for older people, including special diets, allergens, and texture-modified meals

Responsabilités

• Prepare and cook hot and cold meals, taking dietary requirements and individual preferences into account
• Maintain accurate records of food supplies and deliveries
• Plan or contribute to menus with a focus on fresh ingredients and balanced nutrition
• Ensure all equipment is cleaned, well maintained, and stored appropriately
• Ensure the cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas are carried out effectively
