Job summary

Ceredigion County Council Direct Payment Support Service is seeking a compassionate Support Worker Assistant to join a care team. The role involves assisting residents in daily activities, following care plans, and providing companionship in care homes or home care settings.

The position is temporary with zero-hours shifts up to 40 hours per week. Ideal candidates will have DBS clearance after interview and Moving and Handling training, with willingness to travel up to 75% and to work in

Qualifications

Experience in care settings preferred.
Ability to follow care plans accurately.
Good English communication, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily activities including hygiene, dressing and mobility.
Support care plans, ensuring personalised needs are met with compassion.
Provide companionship and emotional support to residents or clients.
Help with meal preparation and assist during mealtimes.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report concerns to senior staff.
Support light domestic tasks to keep a clean and safe environment.
Drive or accompany residents on outings or appointments as needed.
Adhere to health and safety policies including infection control procedures.
