Job summary

Care Dorset Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to support adults in a residential setting.

You will provide personal care, domestic tasks and assist with records while maintaining dignity and privacy. The role includes manual handling, hoisting, and following care plans within a team. Part-time shifts with alternate weekends offered, with good training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

Qualification or proven ability in literacy and basic mathematics.
Commitment to achieving NVQ Level 2 qualification.
Understanding of personal/physical care needs
Understanding of confidentiality and privacy
Ability to work without close supervision
Ability to attend to and assist with a range of physical care needs
Empathy with the needs of the relevant client group
Ability to follow care plans and instructions
Ability to maintain/complete records
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to reflect on and learn from experience

Responsibilities

Undertake personal care duties including toileting, washing and transfer hoisting
Undertake domestic tasks such as cleaning and laundry
Support client group while maintaining dignity and privacy
Maintain brief written notes on individual client records
Follow Health and Safety requirements for manual handling and infection control
Work within the Gold Standards Framework
