Job summary

Avery Healthcare in Barnet is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Care Assistant to join Barnet Grange Care Home. You will deliver high standards of personal care and work as part of a supportive team to ensure continuity of services for residents.

No prior experience is required as we provide a thorough induction and training programme to build confidence in your role, with a DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK required.

Qualifications

• Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate initiative and be respectful towards residents and other people in the home.
• Be an efficient worker who can carry reasonable instructions from other team members.
• Be adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents in all their personal hygiene care ensuring optimum independence, dignity and respect of individuals at all times.
• Recognising and understanding clinical risk areas in residents such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, sign of infections and escalating any identified risks in a timely manner.
• Acting courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
• Practicing safe systems of work across the range of task.
