Job summary

The Royal Hospital Chelsea is seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to support Chelsea Pensioners with daily living, personal care and companionship. You will work as part of the Health and Wellbeing team to maintain dignity, independence and quality of life for residents.

You will be kind, reliable and caring, with strong communication and teamwork skills, and be prepared to learn and work towards the Care Certificate or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Kind, reliable and caring with a genuine interest in supporting older people.
• Ability to communicate well and work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and work toward Care Certificate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support Pensioners with daily living, including personal care, mobility, meals and hydration.
• Help Pensioners feel comfortable, respected and valued at all times.
• Follow care plans and procedures under guidance of senior staff.
• Keep accurate daily records and report concerns about wellbeing.
• Support social activities and hobbies.
• Escort Pensioners to appointments or outings as required.
• Work flexibly across shift patterns as needed.
• Welcome visitors and provide friendly, professional assistance.
• Ensure rooms and equipment are clean, safe.
