Job summary

Elizabeth Finn Homes is seeking a compassionate Care Assistant for Rush Court Care Home in Wallingford to deliver high-quality personal care and support residents with dignity and independence. You will work alongside clinical and senior care teams to create a safe, engaging environment where residents can thrive.

Shifts include weekends; the role requires strong communication in English, numeracy and literacy, and a commitment to ongoing learning.

Qualifications

• Secondary school education with good numeracy and literacy.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English.
• Level 2 in Care (or willingness to work towards it).
• Experience caring for older people.
• Basic knowledge of Care Workers’ Codes of Practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personal care in line with care plans and procedures, documenting accurately.
• Report any changes, concerns, incidents, or complaints promptly to senior staff.
• Support residents with social activities, routines, and meaningful engagement.
• Maintain a clean, safe, secure environment and ensure equipment is used/stored safely.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all policies; take responsibility for ongoing learning and development.
