Job summary

Orwell Housing Association is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant for Beaumont House, Walton-on-the-Naze, to provide daily personal care, mobility support and meaningful social activities. You will work within an Extra Care service, contributing to compassionate, person-centred care plans and accurate documentation.

The role involves dementia and mental health support, safeguarding awareness, and collaboration to tailor care to each resident’s goals. DBS checks are provided and training available.

Qualifications

• Care experience in a social care or nursing setting.
• Experience supporting personal care, mobility and daily living activities.
• Awareness of safeguarding, and ability to follow care plans and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support with personal care, mobility, social activities, eating/drinking, and medication.
• Develop positive, person-centred relationships and provide emotional support.
• Use clear communication, active listening and observation to document care plans.
• Support individuals with health needs including dementia, mental health, and end-of-life care.
• Uphold safeguarding practices and respond to concerns appropriately.
• Collaborate to develop person-centred care plans based on individual goals and preferences.
