Job summary

Oaklands Rest Home is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to support residents with personal care, daily routines and social activities. You will work closely with the Senior Care Assistant and Registered Manager to maintain a homely, respectful environment for residents, many living with dementia.

No formal qualifications are required; we value patience, reliability and a caring attitude. DBS checks are funded by Oaklands and on-site parking is available.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with personal care in a respectful, dignified way.
• Follow individual care plans and adapt your approach to each person.
• Encourage independence and understand each resident's preferences, life history and routines.
• Support residents with physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing.
• Help residents feel safe, unhurried and valued.
• Report changes in health, mood, appetite, mobility or behaviour promptly.
