Job summary

Westron Care Ambulance is seeking an Ambulance Care Assistant for a full-time, on-site role in Wolverhampton. You will support patients during journeys, assist with transfers and mobility, and ensure safety and comfort following infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should demonstrate strong caregiving and dementia care abilities to provide person-centered support.
• Manual handling skills and safe moving techniques, including use of mobility aids.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients, relatives and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in health or social care, ambulance services, or patient transport is beneficial.
• Basic Life Support or first aid certification, or willingness to obtain it, is an advantage.
• Ability to work shifts, stay calm under pressure, and follow clinical and safety protocols.
• A valid driver’s license for ambulance work may be beneficial depending on service needs.
• Commitment to equality, safeguarding, and patient dignity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients during journeys with safe transfers, positioning and mobility.
• Prepare vehicles and equipment and complete documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards.

• Communicate clearly with patients, relatives and colleagues and respond calmly in urgent situations.
