Disability North in Newcastle is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a disabled client with social activities, shopping, and outings. Role focuses on being a sighted guide and helping with daily living tasks in the client’s home and in outings.

The successful candidate should be lively, reliable, with good communication skills, and comfortable working flexible hours. The position requires a female worker due to occupational requirements and driving with own vehicle.

Qualifications

• Must be able to assist with daily living tasks and personal care.
• Good communication skills and a positive, reliable attitude.

Responsabilités

• Provide social support by accompanying to activities such as shopping, meeting family and friends, theatre and local gigs.
• Act as sighted guide when out and about, under the direction of the client.
• Respect privacy and confidentiality in all aspects of work.
• Be physically able to assist with mobility needs and load the wheelchair into the vehicle.
