Job summary

Disability North is seeking a Personal Assistant to provide companionship to a gentleman in Newcastle. The role involves engaging him in conversations about history, travel, music and current affairs, as well as accompanying him on short walks and activities to stay engaged.

The successful candidate should be mature, English-speaking, patient and able to build rapport. A driver is preferred but not essential; DBS checks and references will be required. Hours are arranged in 2–3 hour sessions.

Qualifications

• Mature, English-speaking Personal Assistant required.
• Male candidate due to occupational requirement under Disability Act.
• Patient, friendly and able to engage in meaningful conversations.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and engage in conversations about his interests.
• Accompany on short walks and encourage activity.
• Engage in stimulating conversations to keep him mentally active.
• Prioritize safety and DBS/reference checks as required.
