Maxim Healthcare is hiring a Companion Caregiver to provide services to clients in their residences. The role focuses on socialization, mild exercise, medication reminders, daily living activities, and safety supervision within the client’s home.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• One (1) year of experience as a Companion Care Homemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred.
• Ability to carry out tasks in a professional manner and adhere to policies regarding professionalism and boundaries preferred.
• Must demonstrate a compassionate nature and possess strong interpersonal skills preferred.
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills preferred.
• CPR Certification
• Proficiency in the English language is required
• Computer proficiency required

Responsibilities

• Provides care such as socialization, a mild exercise program, medication reminders, bathing, toileting and dressing supervision, light housekeeping and ADLs.
• Arrives at the client’s home on time and completes shift as scheduled.
• Performs duties in an accurate and timely manner.
• Observes infection control procedures including universal precautions.

Responsibilities

• Provides care such as:
  • Providing and encouraging socialization
  • Encouraging a mild exercise program
  • Encouraging medication compliance through timely reminders to take medications
  • Supervising the safety of the client when bathing, toileting, and dressing
  • Assisting with grocery-shopping; and performing light housekeeping chores
  • Assisting with ADLs
  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
• Arrives at the client’s home on time and leaves when shift schedule is complete
• Performs all duties in an accurate and timely manner
• Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions
