Job summary

Oxford Health NHS Trust is seeking an experienced substantive Community Urgent Care GP to work at the cSDEC units in Witney and Abingdon. The post combines clinical care, home visits and remote consultations, with seven-day service from 8am to 8pm and shifts of 9–12 hours on weekdays.

Full GMC registration and GP training completion are required. Applicants should be prepared to call before applying; flexible hours including full-time, part-time or flexible arrangements are welcome.

Qualifications

• Completion of GP training and full GMC registration with licence to practise.
• Active NHS clinical experience in general practice.
• Experience in urgent care and care of older people.
• Experience supervising medical trainees is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality clinical care and assessments in cSDEC units.
• Assess and treat acutely unwell patients and deliver care plans.
• Carry out same-day home visits and telephone consultations.
• Work with primary, acute and community services to avoid admissions.
• Follow local prescribing guidelines and participate in reviews.
