Job summary

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust's Out of Hours service is recruiting a GP to provide community-based urgent care in Oxfordshire. The role covers 6.30pm–8.00am on weekdays and 24/7 weekends/bank holidays, with base sites including Banbury, Bicester, Oxford, Witney, Abingdon or Henley.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, support trainee GPs, and participate in clinical audit and service development. Travel between bases may be required.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with licence to practice as a General Practitioner.
• Inclusion on a Medical Performers List.
• Up to date with appraisal and revalidation requirements.
• Completion of GP training (JCPTGP certificate pre 2005 or MRCGP).
• Active NHS clinical experience in General Practice with urgent care.
• Desirable: experience in urgent care or OOH setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat and manage patients presenting to the OOH service requiring same-day urgent care.
• Provide senior medical support and advice to non-medical practitioners within the MDT.
• Support and supervise trainee GPs and non-medical practitioners; undertake research and clinical audit.
• Work across base sites in Oxfordshire (including Banbury, Bicester, Oxford, Witney, Abingdon, Henley).
• Participate in learning and development needs of GP trainees and other staff.
