We're Hiring: Community Team Lead for Home Care

Based in Southampton with travel across the surrounding area

Hours – Monday to Friday with one weekend day to be worked every other week (a day off in week will be given in lieu) plus additional on call duties as part of a rota

Salary based on 37.5 hours per week as above - £25,613.25

SCA Care is looking for a motivated and compassionate Community Team Lead to help oversee our Home Care services. You’ll work closely with our Registered Manager and Care Coordinator to support and supervise care staff, deliver high-quality, person-centred care, and ensure our services meet and exceed expectations.

About the Role

As a Community Team Lead, you’ll split your time between the office and the community – providing hands-on support, supervising staff, and maintaining compliance standards. You’ll play a vital role in setting up new care packages, mentoring staff, ensuring safety and dignity for our customers, and being a key point of contact between customers, care workers, and the office team.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Supporting and supervising care/support staff in the community
  • Completing care plan audits, competency checks, and face-to-face supervisions
  • Assisting with the assessment and setup of new customer care packages
  • Delivering personal care when required and modelling best practice
  • Monitoring and maintaining compliance with CQC standards and KPIs
  • Contributing to recruitment, induction, and mentoring of new care staff
  • Participating in the on-call rota and covering shifts when needed
  • Maintaining accurate records and electronic systems
  • Acting as a link between customers and the office, promoting professionalism and respect

What You’ll Need

Essential

  • A strong understanding of person-centred care in the community
  • Previous experience supervising staff in a care environment
  • Ability and willingness to deliver personal care
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and time management skills
  • Caring, professional, and adaptable nature
  • Full UK driving licence and access to reliable transport
  • The right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • A BTEC Diploma Level 2 or other professional care qualification
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, audits, or spot checks
