Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience in Health and Social care setting supporting individuals with sight or dual sensory loss.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to individuals in their homes or assist with travel.
  • Enable access to community services.
  • Assist individuals with financial management.
  • Support access to recreational activities and medical appointments.

We are looking for 2 Community Support Workers to join our team at Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland (LLR) Sensory Services. There are 2 roles available, 15 hours per week, Monday and Friday only or Thursday and Friday only. You would be providing support to people with sight or dual sensory loss to maintain their independence at home and within the community.

  • Working with people within their own homes or assist with travel. Enable people to access services within their communities.
  • Enabling people with sight or dual sensory loss to access ships and provide audio description to enable personal choice.
  • Enabling individuals to manager their money and make informed choices in relation to their financial affairs.
  • Provide support to people to access recreational activities of their choice or medical appointments.
To be successful for this post, you will have:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of sight and dual sensory loss.
  • 3 years’ experience of working in Health and Social care setting supporting individuals with sight or dual sensory loss
