Job summary

CrossReach in Scotland is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help adults with learning disabilities build confidence and independence, supporting access to work, education and leisure and accompanying individuals to activities and holidays.

You will require good communication, basic IT skills and a passion for helping people live full lives. Training is provided; SVQ Level 2/3 in Social Care and PVG/SSSC registration are expected.

Qualifications

• Good communication and listening skills to support people effectively.
• Basic IT skills to document and coordinate care.
• Experience in social care is welcomed but not essential; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to achieve personal goals and aspirations
• Encourage independence and build confidence in everyday life
• Help access employment, education, volunteering and leisure opportunities
• Accompany individuals to community activities, appointments and holidays
• Support health and wellbeing, including physical activities where appropriate
• Build positive relationships with individuals, families and other professionals
• Promote dignity, choice and person-centred support
