Job summary

Affinity Trust in Whitstable is seeking a compassionate support worker to empower people to live great lives on their own terms. You will promote independence, build social connections, and help individuals participate in daily activities across Whitstable, Blean, and Herne Bay.

You’ll need a full UK driving licence and access to a car to travel between locations; full training is provided, and enhanced DBS checks are paid for.

Responsibilities

• adapt your support to fit what each person needs and wants daily
• encourage people to make their own choices, big and small
• help people to do things themselves to be as independent as possible
• support people to build confidence and life skills
• help people to be a part of their community, joining local clubs and connecting with friends and family
• be understanding, allowing people to take their time and do things at their own pace
• celebrate people’s achievements, no matter how small they might seem to others
