Community Support Worker

Are you looking for a new challenge with the opportunity to expand and develop your skills? Are you passionate about supporting older people's mental health? If so, we at MHSOP Community Mental Health Team (MHSOP) want to hear from you!

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, professional, and compassionate Band 3 Community Support Worker, Part time - 22.5 hours (fixed term - 12 months) to join our community team.

This post is not open to trainees therefore the successful candidate should have completed the Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 or equivalent. Candidates must also have Literacy and Numeracy level 2 or equivalent and must complete the Trust Healthcare Assistant competencies within their probationary period (first 6 months in role).

Applicants must ensure that prior to applying they have agreement from their current line manager that they can be released on a secondment basis. In the event that permanent funding is secured for this post the successful applicant will be confirmed in post on a permanent basis.

You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.

The successful candidate will join our specialist multi-disciplinary team whose aim is to provide holistic, person-centred care to older peoplewho are experiencing a range of mental health conditions. We work alongside people in care homes and in their own homes.

We work closely with families/carers and other professional disciplines to ensure a comprehensive and valuable experience is had by all involved. We pride ourselves on being leaders in delivering high quality compassionate care whilst protecting and promoting staff wellbeing and development.

Successful applicant will need a full drivers' licence and vehicle access to carry out their role.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will support registered members of the team to deliver evidenced based interventions to help older people with their mental health using interventions from our Pathways of care.

The post holder should also be expected to carry out physical health monitoring to help support older people.
