Job Overview:

As a Support Worker at Arise Housing, you will play a crucial role in supporting our residents' personal growth and well-being. You will provide practical assistance, guidance, and emotional support, helping tenants develop life skills and maintain their independence in a secure, supportive environment. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing flexibility between on-site visits and remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct weekly support sessions with each tenant to monitor progress and provide guidance on personal goals.
  • Assist residents with life skills development, such as budgeting, cooking, and maintaining their living space.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of support sessions and tenant progress.
  • Identify and address any safeguarding concerns promptly, following company procedures.
  • Support tenants with employment readiness, including job applications, CV writing, and interview preparation.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, healthcare professionals, and social services to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Assist with community engagement activities and encourage residents to participate in fitness classes, workshops, and social events.
  • Ensure properties meet health and safety standards, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for all residents.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in supported housing, social care, or a similar role is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with residents.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple caseloads independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintaining digital records.
  • A valid driving licence and access to a car is essential for this role, as travel between properties is required.
