Job summary

Balivanich Clinic within NHS Scotland is seeking a Community Nurse – South Team (Band 5) on a 22-hour-per-week permanent contract. The post involves delivering nursing care at patients' homes across the Isles of Uist, with a focus on prevention, anticipatory care and supported self-management.

Applicants should have some community nurse experience, be able to work autonomously and as part of a team, hold a full UK driving licence, and be willing to participate in on-call and weekend rotas.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Uist Community Nursing team which covers the Isles of Uist in the Western Isles. The post holder will be a member of a team of Community Nurses providing nursing care to people in their own homes.

Applicants must have some experience of working within a community nurse setting. This post would be an ideal opportunity for someone to develop their nursing skills and knowledge within a community setting.

The role encompasses a focus on prevention, anticipation and supported self-management to enable everyone to live longer, healthier lives at home or in a homely setting. The post holder will be required to participate in working an on-call and a weekend service on a rota basis. A flexible working approach is required. You will be a car owner/driver with a full UK driving licence.

You will need the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team along with good communication skills.
