Job summary

NHS Scotland is recruiting a motivated and enthusiastic band 5 registered nurse to join our small inpatient team at Cowal Community Hospital in Dunoon.

You will care for patients admitted acutely from casualty, plan transfers for rehabilitation and complex discharge planning, and provide palliative and end-of-life care as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

There is an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge, and the post is suitable for a newly qualified nurse.

We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic band 5 registered nurses to our small inpatient team within Cowal Community Hospital.

We care for patients who are admitted acutely from casualty, planned transfers from GG&C for rehabilitation and complex discharge planning. We also provide palliative and end of life care. Our focus is delivering person centred care, working closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team.

There is opportunity to develop skills and knowledge. This post is suitable for a newly qualified nurse.

Dunoon is a small picturesque town on the Cowal Peninsula which sits on the West Coast of Scotland, an area of outstanding natural beauty yet close to cosmopolitan cities such as Glasgow and Edinburgh. Argyll has over 3,500km of stunning coastline and is home to many inhabited and uninhabited islands.

Additional Information For Candidates

• Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
