We are currently recruiting for a permanent, part time community staff nurse.
As a community staff nurse you will work closely with the school nurses taking a lead role in delivering specific elements of the Healthy Child Programme 5 19 years, which will include medical conditions in school, nocturnal enuresis and targeted health support for families.
The salary shown is Full time equivalent and will be pro-rated to Term Time, Part-time Only.
Main duties of the jobThe School Nursing Team provides a universal and targeted service for children and young people aged between 5 19 years. We work in partnership with children, young people and families to promote their health and wellbeing and provide a key link between health and education whilst promoting multi-agency working to support their needs. School nurses are the professional lead for children aged 5-19 years as part of the Healthy Child Programme. The Team consists of Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (also called School Nurses), Community Staff Nurses and School Health Screeners. We are located within the community family hubs in Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead and work in a flexible/hybrid arrangement.

In addition you will be expected to support and oversee the School Health Screeners in the delivery of the National Childhood Measurement Programme and the School Entry Screening.
This role involves working in partnership with children, young people, their families and wider multi-agency teams and establishing effective working relationships with members of the Primary Health Care Team, Family Hubs, Health Visitors, allied professionals and voluntary agencies to achieve best health and wellbeing outcomes for families and children.
You will be expected to attend staff meetings and participate in supervision, the annual review process, statutory and mandatory training, as required. You will also provide leadership and act as a positive role model by supporting colleagues and demonstrating excellent standards of care.
