Job summary

The Dorset Community Adult Speech and Language Therapy service is innovative and currently developing. This Band 5 role based at Weymouth Community Hospital covers Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester, Bridport and surrounding areas, delivering a community clinical service with support from Band 6 and 7 therapists.

The post offers CPD opportunities, supervision, flexible working including a hybrid model, and potential collaboration with the Dorset Stroke and Neuro SLT team.

Qualifications

• Membership of the relevant Professional Body
• Experience in adult community SLT
• Knowledge of assessment and therapy for acquired communication and swallowing difficulties

Responsibilities

• Provide a high-quality community clinical service for adults in Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester and surrounding areas.
• Deliver home visits, video calls and clinic-based assessments as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Develop and review care plans and provide evidence-based advice to patients and carers.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to students and junior staff within the team.
• Participate in health improvement programmes and contribute to service development.
