Job summary

Pulse Healthcare Limited is seeking a dedicated Band 4 Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join the Neuro Rehabilitation Team at Ribbleton Clinic, Preston. This locum role supports qualified therapists in delivering rehabilitation to patients in homes and community clinics.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, carry out delegated therapy activities, monitor progress, and provide feedback to supervising therapists.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Speech and Language Therapists or in healthcare settings.
• Understanding of communication and swallowing difficulties, including dysphagia.
• Ability to follow delegated therapy programmes.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently visiting patients in homes and community settings.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and progress communication.
• Flexible, proactive and compassionate approach.
• Team player in a multidisciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Support Speech and Language Therapists in delivering rehabilitation at homes and clinics.
• Carry out delegated communication and swallowing exercises per therapy plans.
• Travel independently to visit patients in community settings.
• Record patient progress and maintain clinical notes.
• Communicate changes to supervising therapist.
• Follow clinical guidance and health and safety procedures.
