Job summary

ACL, part of Essex County Council, is recruiting a Community Trainer in Basildon to deliver accessible and inclusive learning for adults, helping them gain skills, confidence and wellbeing.

You'll plan, deliver and assess entry-level community learning programmes across Essex, embedding English, maths and digital skills, while promoting safeguarding and inclusion. This is a permanent, full-time role with community-based delivery.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification (AET, PTLLS or equivalent) required or willing to work towards.
• Experience delivering learning, training, coaching or support to adults.
• Inclusive and learner-centred teaching practice.
• Ability to build effective relationships with learners and community partners.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess high-quality community learning sessions tailored to learner needs and community priorities.
• Deliver entry-level and community learning programmes including English, maths, digital skills, employability and wellbeing.
• Embed English, maths and digital skills within learning programmes where appropriate.
• Support learners to develop confidence, wellbeing and progression through flexible learning approaches.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learners' needs.
• Use assessment and learner reviews to monitor progress and celebrate achievement.
• Work with community partners to engage learners and promote participation.
