Job description

The Community Safety Coordinator supports the coordination of the work of the Community Safety Team. The post holder has primary responsibility for the administration of a range of multi-agency meetings, including the statutory Safer Sutton Partnership Board. The post holder is also responsible for supporting the Team's communication with internal and external stakeholders, including partners like the Police, MOPAC, as well as enquiries from elected Members and the general public.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Coordinating responses to enquiries from internal and external partners, elected Members, and the public.
  2. Coordinating and minuting a range of operational and strategic meetings and Boards.
  3. Providing general administrative/business support functions to the team.
  4. Raising requisitions for goods and services commissioned by the team.
  5. Supporting the team with funding applications and performance reporting to MOPAC/VRU via Flexigrant.

About Us

The Community Safety Team, also known as Safer Sutton Partnership, is a small team based at Sutton Police Station and the Civic Offices. It is part of the Targeted Early Help & Integrated Support Service within Sutton Children's Services - People Directorate. The team collaborates with the Metropolitan Police and various partners to enhance safety for residents and visitors in the London Borough of Sutton.

About You
  • The successful candidate will have extensive experience in leading administrative/business support functions within a multi-agency setting.
  • The postholder must be well-organized, proactive, and capable of problem-solving.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, with experience communicating with diverse audiences, including senior leaders and the public. Experience communicating with elected members is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Business World/Agresso and Google Suite products is also desirable.
