Job summary

County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust in Darlington is seeking a Community Stop Smoking Advisor to join a skilled team delivering stop smoking support across the Darlington Stop Smoking Service. The role requires excellent communication, organisational skills, and the ability to work autonomously with flexible hours.

You will recruit and support clients on their quit journey, create personalised quit plans including medications or vape options, and provide evidence-based behavioural

Qualifications

• Educated to at least NVQ3 / Foundation degree / Higher National Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of the drivers of ill health
• Knowledge of tobacco treatment services
• Level 2 smoking cessation training

Responsibilities

• Support clients in Darlington to stop smoking with behavioural support and access to medications.
• Develop and implement personalised quit plans with 12 weeks of mixed sessions.
• Coordinate supply of medications or quit aids to maintain abstinence.
• Engage with community activities to promote cessation services and awareness.
