Community Podiatrist - Band 5

£34,521 - £41,956 Inc HCAS Per annum pro rata

Full time 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has developed to join a committed, progressive team working in a challenging and motivating environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing foot health care and advice to patients with "at risk" feet.

We are seeking a Band 5 podiatrist to join our friendly and professional team. Candidates should have broad clinical experience at undergraduate level, with an understanding of community podiatry services and intermediate care services.

You must demonstrate an understanding of legal responsibilities, the importance of Evidence-Based Practice, and clinical governance. The role may involve working in challenging conditions to provide patient care.

You will need a degree in Podiatry, registration with HCPC, and a commitment to maintaining a professional development portfolio. Flexibility, reliability, empathy, resilience, and problem-solving skills are essential. The role requires travel across the Bromley borough and access to a suitable vehicle.

Interviews are scheduled for 12th June 2025.

Main duties of the job
  1. Manage a moderate-high risk caseload, including domiciliary visits, routine care, and diabetic foot assessments.
  2. Opportunities for rotation in MSK and nail surgery will be provided.
  3. Support wound care and provide assistance where needed.
Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential)
  • Degree in Podiatric Medicine or equivalent leading to licensure to practice
  • Local analgesia administration certificate
  • HCPC registration
Qualifications (Desirable)
  • Post-graduate study such as CPD courses and modules
  • Ability to complete basic grade induction
Experience (Essential)
  • Using experience to offer second opinions
  • Experience in specialist areas like minor nail surgery, biomechanics, rheumatology, diabetic foot care, and health education
Experience (Desirable)
  • Presenting information and adapting training to learning styles
  • Previous role as a Podiatry Assistant
Skills (Essential)
  • Knowledge of podiatric conditions and therapies
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of clinical governance
  • Proficiency with assessment techniques and diagnostic equipment (e.g., Monofilament, Doppler)
  • Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle
