We are looking for a Band 5 Specialist Podiatrist within Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust

The successful candidate will join one of the largest and forward-thinking Podiatry Departments in the Country. This role is for a highly motivated and professional HCPC registered Podiatrist to provide high quality podiatric care for patients with pathological foot conditions and those individuals at risk of developing serious foot health complications.

The post holder is required to have excellent clinical skills to deliver a range of Podiatry treatments for patients in Kent.

The post holder will work with the local team to ensure service provisions within the team are run effectively and efficiently.

A comprehensive corporate induction programme is given at the commencement of employment. As well as this the Podiatry Department offers its own preceptorship package covering all aspects of peer review, clinical supervision, support and mentoring. A Competency programmes is used for staff to ensure all work is to a high clinical standard which can lead to future opportunities for career development into a chosen specialist area which can be supported within the service.

Main duties of the job

This role is for a highly motivated and professional HCPC registered podiatrist with graduate clinical experience to provide high-quality podiatric care for patients with pathological foot conditions and those at risk of developing serious foot health complications.

The Department embraces the use of new ways of working using virtual consultations, Wound Matrix and Rio for clinical documentation.

The service is delivered in Community Clinics, Health Centres, GP surgeries, Acute and Community Hospital Sites, Prisons and patient's own home. All staff are given the opportunity to get involved in a wide variety and scope of practice. As many of our bases are away from public transport routes, it is a requirement of the role that you are able to drive and have access to a car (subject to the provisions of the Equality Act 2010).

Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree or equivalent in Podiatric Medicine HCPC registration Completion of post-graduate 'induction' training Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Diabetic Foot Module or willingness to successfully complete.
EXPERIENCE
  • Clinical Governance and professional standards Health & Safety roles and responsibilities for clinical practice
SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Highly developed manual dexterity and clinical skills
  • Ability to provide clear, concise written and verbal information to colleagues, patients and external contacts
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team
  • Computer literacy to enable use of email/inputting accurate patient records at speed
  • Ability to work alone and under pressure if required
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
  • Able to be assertive when giving unwelcome information
  • Flexible in dealing with different personalities to enable patient compliance with treatment plans
ABILITY TO MANAGE
  • Able to take responsibility for own workload on a day to day basis and work autonomously
  • Able to travel to a variety of sites at short notice
  • Have a full UK Driving License and access to a car
