Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Community OPAT and IV Nurse (Band 5) to deliver specialist intravenous therapy in patients’ homes and community settings.

You will work with OPAT and Community response teams, consultants, pharmacists and microbiologists to provide high-quality care. A full driving licence and current NMC registration are required to join a growing, multidisciplinary service.

Qualifications

• Must be a Band 5 Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• At least 1 year post-registration experience with IV skills preferred.
• Excellent communication and clinical assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe OPAT and IV treatment in community settings.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Administer intravenous antimicrobial therapy and IV therapy.
• Monitor patient progress and respond to clinical concerns.
• Support patients and carers to manage treatment safely at home.
• Work collaboratively with hospital and community multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in service development, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
