Job summary

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a band 5 registered nurse to join our OPAT team. The role involves administering prescribed intravenous antibiotics in home or clinic settings in line with trust policy, and supporting early discharge and admission avoidance where possible.

You will develop and maintain OPAT skills, monitor patients, collect blood tests as required, and liaise with hospital and community teams to ensure antimicrobials are available and to escalate

Qualifications

• Must be a Band 5 registered nurse with current registration.
• Experience in IV therapies or OPAT is desirable.
• Ability to work in community and clinic settings with clinical safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed intravenous antibiotics as per trust policy.
• Acquire and maintain skills to manage OPAT clinical care and vascular access.
• Ensure any blood tests are collected as required.
• Liaise with relevant teams to ensure antimicrobials are available to meet patient needs.
• Assess and monitor patient condition and feedback to MDT.
• Recognise and escalate issues with specialist community support when necessary.
