Job summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is seeking a Band 4 Generic Therapy Assistant (OT/PT) to support registered therapists in community services across Arfon. You will operate under supervision, managing screenings, caseloads, and rehabilitation plans to maintain functional independence.

The role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, patient and carer communication, and potential support for palliative care pathways. Welsh language ability is desirable.

Qualifications

• Quality Credit Framework qualification at level 3 e.g. A Level; NVQ or OCN related to Health & Social Care.
• Relevant experience of working within a Therapy environment delivering therapy programmes.
• Understanding of the role of occupational therapy/ physiotherapy.

Responsibilities

• Carry out skilled screening assessments using departmental protocols.
• Manage an autonomous caseload delegated by registered therapists.
• Participate in triage and prioritisation of referrals.
• Assess, provide and review rehabilitation and maintenance plans, along with provision of equipment to support safe daily living.
• Work collaboratively within a multi-professional CRT to prevent hospital admissions/ to facilitate early safe discharge from hospital.
• Develop collaborative goals and rehabilitation plans.
• Communicate sensitively with patients, families and carers.
