Job summary

JustOT is recruiting an Occupational Therapist (Band 6) for a permanent position in Bournemouth/Dorset, community-based and required to travel to client houses independently. You will deliver high-quality OT assessments and interventions in clients' homes and community settings, promoting strength-based, person-centred approaches to maximise independence and wellbeing.

The role requires HCPC registration, RCOT membership, and a current UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Qualified OT with HCPC registration.
• Experience with adults in health or social care settings.
• Experience in multi-professional and multi-agency working.
• Excellent clinical reasoning and problem solving.
• Clear Enhanced DBS check.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for community visits.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, evidence-based OT assessments and interventions to meet individual goals.
• Carry out functional and baseline assessments (personal care, domestic activities, mobility, cognition, communication).
• Prescribe and train clients and carers in standard and equipment use.
• Conduct home environment assessments and assess risks to independence and safety.
• Support reablement to enable safe hospital discharge and reduce ongoing care placements.
• Collaborate with Social Workers, health professionals, carers and families to coordinate care.
