Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Blyth is seeking an enthusiastic Nursing Assistant to join the Community Nursing Team in Blyth District Nursing.

You will work under supervision, provide personal and delegated nursing care, undertake diagnostic tests, and support housebound patients and care home residents. Flexible working options and a strong development pathway are offered.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of community care philosophy and procedures.
• NVQ Level 3 in care or the equivalent level of skill and knowledge.
• Previous experience of working in a health or social care setting.

Responsibilities

• The Nursing Assistant performs personal care tasks and clinical interventions delegated by registered nurses.
• Delivers personal care and support to patients including emotional support.
• Assists with equipment collection, use, and decontamination between uses.
• Maintains communication with patients, relatives, colleagues and other agencies to ensure continuity of care.
• Monitors stock levels and re-stocks supplies as necessary.
• Works unsupervised in patients' homes, surgeries and residential settings when required.
