Job summary

Enable is seeking a Community Link Worker to support adults with learning disabilities across the Scottish Borders in two projects: digital inclusion and accessible travel. You will design and deliver engaging activities, fostering independence and confidence in local communities.

You will work in a friendly, person-centred way, delivering group activities and one-to-one support, building skills, social networks, and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging programmes and activities that support individuals to develop practical skills, build confidence, and increase their independence
  • Through person-centred support, help participants strengthen their communication skills, expand their social networks, improve their health and wellbeing
  • Enhance participants' ability to access opportunities within their local communities

About The Role

35 HOURS PER WEEK

The role is based across Dumfries & Galloway and the Biggar area in North Lanarkshire. Travel between both area's is required as part of this role

Job share opportunities are available between both areas (2x 17.5 hours per week)

As part of our Communities Team, you will play a key role in delivering two exciting projects across the Scottish Borders. The first project focuses on promoting digital inclusion, supporting adults with learning disabilities and other barriers to develop the skills and confidence needed to access technology and digital services. The second project aims to promote accessible travel, empowering people to navigate their local communities with greater independence and confidence.

In this rewarding role, you will design and deliver engaging programmes and activities that support individuals to develop practical skills, build confidence, and increase their independence. Through person-centred support, you will help participants strengthen their communication skills, expand their social networks, improve their health and wellbeing, and enhance their ability to access opportunities within their local communities.
