Job summary

Enable is recruiting a Community Link Worker to support adults with learning disabilities across the Dumfries & Galloway and Biggar area. The role involves delivering person-centred activities, building confidence and independence, and promoting digital inclusion and accessible travel.

You will work in local communities, run groups and 1:1 sessions, and contribute to an inclusive society. Terms: 35 hours per week, permanent, salary £27,000 per annum.

Job description

35 HOURS PER WEEK

Job based across Dumfries & Galloway and Biggar area in North Lanarkshire. Travel between areas required.

Job share opportunities available between both areas (2x 17.5 hours per week)

As part of our Communities Team, you will play a key role in delivering two exciting projects across the Scottish Borders. The first project focuses on promoting digital inclusion, supporting adults with learning disabilities and other barriers to develop the skills and confidence needed to access technology and digital services. The second project aims to promote accessible travel, empowering people to navigate their local communities with greater independence and confidence.

In this rewarding role, you will design and deliver engaging programmes and activities that support individuals to develop practical skills, build confidence, and increase their independence. Through person-centred support, you will help participants strengthen their communication skills, expand their social networks, improve their health and wellbeing, and enhance their ability to access opportunities within their local communities.
