The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me

Enable is a dynamic and vibrant organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and we are looking for a dynamic and motivated Community Engagement Officer to join us in ensuring they have the same opportunities as everyone else.

As part of our Communities Team, you will play a key role in delivering an exciting new Menopause Support Project that aims to improve the health, wellbeing and self-management skills of women with learning disabilities and additional support needs.

In this rewarding role, you will support women to better understand and manage the menopause through accessible workshops, one-to-one support and community engagement activities. You will help participants build confidence, increase their self-management skills and make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

Working across local communities, you will deliver a programme of menopause education and support, helping women recognise symptoms, develop practical coping strategies and access appropriate health and social care services. Through person-centred support, you will empower participants to better understand their health needs, communicate confidently with healthcare professionals and strengthen their support networks.

You will work closely with women, families, carers, healthcare professionals and partner organisations to create a supportive and inclusive environment where women feel informed, empowered and listened to. Through this work, you will help reduce isolation, improve wellbeing and ensure women experiencing menopause have the knowledge, confidence and support needed to navigate this important stage of life.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference while helping to create healthier, more inclusive communities where women with learning disabilities can thrive.
