Job summary

South Gloucestershire Council invites applications for a Library Assistant to support customers and promote reading and learning across Bradley Stoke and Filton libraries. You will help users access IT resources, manage shelving and displays, and contribute to a varied programme of activities and outreach events that engage the community.

Role involves cash handling and maintaining a high standard of service.

Qualifications

• It is essential you hold 3 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English and maths.
• You will have strong customer service experience, especially with children and older people.
• Experience using ICT equipment, software and the internet is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide library services, help customers with enquiries and access information resources.
• Assist users with IT resources and the library management system.
• Maintain a welcoming environment through shelving, displays and stock preparation.
• Contribute to activities and outreach events for all ages.
