Job summary

Croydon Council is seeking enthusiastic Library Assistants to join our team in Croydon. This 18-hour-per-week, three-part-time permanent post will involve front-line duties, helping customers access information, services and digital resources.

You will work set patterns including alternate Saturdays and travel between Croydon’s libraries. We value excellent customer service, teamwork and a keen interest in learning and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• The ability to contribute positively as part of a team.
• Interest in libraries and their role in supporting communities, wellbeing, learning, culture and inclusion.
• Good digital skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office applications, online systems and library management systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and help access library services and information.
