Job summary

Croydon Council is seeking enthusiastic Library Assistants to join our team in Croydon. This 18-hour-per-week, three-part-time permanent post will involve front-line duties, helping customers access information, services and digital resources.

You will work set patterns including alternate Saturdays and travel between Croydon’s libraries. We value excellent customer service, teamwork and a keen interest in learning and community engagement.

Job description

Salary range: Grade 2 £29,562 - £30,408 p.a. plus fantastic benefits
Contract: Permanent
Hours of work: 18 hours per week
Location: Croydon

Job title: Library Assistant – (3 part-time, permanent posts, 18 hours per week)

Working Pattern:

The post will have a set working pattern working full days and will include alternate Saturdays. Libraries are currently open 10-6 Monday to Friday and 9-5 Saturday.

Location: This is a frontline role in libraries and will include some outreach activities.

We are looking for staff to work

Role 1: Tuesdays, Wednesdays & alternate Saturdays

Role 2: Mondays, Thursdays & alternate Saturdays

Role 3: Tuesdays, Fridays & alternate Saturdays

All staff will be required travel to any of Croydon’s libraries.
