Job summary

SeeMeHired.com is seeking a Learning Disability Support Worker to provide person-centred support to young people with learning disabilities in community settings.

You will plan and facilitate activities to build independence and social confidence, assist with daily living skills, and use PMVA/de-escalation techniques to manage behaviours.

A valid UK driving licence is required; opportunities for ongoing training and career progression are available.

Qualifications

• At least 12 months’ experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
• PMVA training.
• Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills.
• Experience promoting independent living skills such as routines and nutrition.
• Confidence using digital care planning systems for accurate record keeping.
• A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People or Adults).
• First Aid training or equivalent (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Providing consistent, person-centred support to young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in their homes and local community.
• Planning and facilitating engaging, structured activities to build independence and social confidence.
• Supporting with daily living skills including meal planning, shopping, dietary needs and personal routines.
• Applying PMVA techniques and de-escalation strategies to safely manage challenging behaviours.
• Maintaining accurate and professional digital care notes, risk assessments, and incident reports.
• Collaborating with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) to ensure positive outcomes.
